How to Pick the Best Hot wheels track set
Basically, any child from 4 years and older will enjoy Hot Wheels at some time during their school years. Hot Wheels cars and play sets are often passed down to younger siblings. There are plenty of collectors who never stopped loving the iconic cars. Beware of CHOKE HAZARD warnings. Small parts, those that can pass through an empty toilet roll, can seriously injure a child less than three years old. We have provided the warning in the information if a track set poses this hazard.
1. Recommended Age
One of the best features of Hot Wheels toys is that they are interchangeable and expandable. You can buy cars by the dozens, and they will work with any track set. The Hot Wheels cars are 1:64 scale. Other brands may be a different scale and will not work well with these tracks. Disney cars, for instance, are larger at 1:55, just enough to get stuck on a track. So, if you are buying other brands of diecast metal cars, look for that 1:64 scale.
2. Pieces
Some track sets sold by Hot Wheels have no cars included. Other sets have one or several. It’s a good idea to make sure you buy enough extra cars to at least fill the lanes of the tracks. If your child has siblings or plays Hot Wheels with friends, you may wish to buy enough for everybody.
3. Batteries
There are battery-driven track sets and those that are child-driven. The mechanical tracks that are powered by a lever or button require nothing but kid power. We have listed the number of batteries with the required size for each track set. Batteries are not included with Hot Wheels track sets.
4. Dimensions
Hot Wheels tracks can be huge. Your young one may like it set up permanently because it is a chore to build the track each play session. Make sure you have a good place and enough room for the set you choose for your child.
5. Weight
Along with the dimensions of the track set, the weight will determine what shipping charges you will need to pay if any. If a boy or girl will have to carry the set from place to place to construct the track, make sure they will be strong enough to handle it alone.
The Winners
If you’re looking for a great Hot Wheels track, the 11 sets reviewed here might lead you to the perfect purchase. Kids from preschool through elementary school, and sometimes far beyond, love Hot Wheels action. The sets are expandable, and additional cars will always make fun and thrills bigger and better.
